I HATE hot weather. Why? Because I can't sleep and then my sleep pattern gets all wonky. It's almost 3 am and it's still 76 outside. This is ridiculous. Yeah, I know, I'm a baby and I should just suck it up. I should find a location that is 65 year round. I'd probably be happy there (at least temperature wise).
I've caught up on my internet reading, looked at some old pictures, written in my journal, watered the plants, and once I finish this post, I'll officially be out of things to do. I think I'll go lay in bed and read. Eventually I'll pass out...right?
I think it's going to be a long summer.

"it is only possible to live happily ever after on a day to day basis"
-Margaret Bonnano
I don't know what it is...I'm just in a really good mood today. It could be the combination of my boss being gone, it being Friday, receiving word that I got good theater tickets and me not wearing shoes. Whatever it is, I don't care.

hi. my name is theresa...
...and I have a spending problem.
I just got my iPod a few months ago. At that point, I was debating between the iPod and a new digital camera. Using the logic that I already had a digital camera I went for the iPod (nevermind that I had an iPod Shuffle...I wanted bigger and better).
The shininess of the iPod is now wearing off and I'm left wanting the camera. And it's not just any camera, it's the holy grail of non-professional digital cameras. If you click on the link, you'll notice this is not a cheap camera. By the time I got done buying everything for it, I would easily be putting up $1000.
There is no way I can afford this right now. Somehow I need to stay strong and resist the urge to "buy now, figure out a way to pay later".
Maybe I can justify it after I graduate in December.

arts and crafts
Here's how the pot painting went. The transplanting wasn't so bad either.

what a day
Here's what I did today:
- I got up (it was quite an accomplishment).
- Headed down to Sioux Falls with Ike and Ace.
- Had lunch at the fabulous HuHot Mongolian Grill.
- Went to Verizon, got a new phone. We had a great time with the sales guy who was nice enough to transfer my phone book to my new phone for free!
- Saw "Take the Lead" at the cheap theater. I'm such a sucker for dance movies.
- Went to Petco so Ike could get a new fish. His name is Galahad (like the knight). He's red. We like to call him Gally for short.
- Trekked over to Home Depot. Purchased four flower pots, paint and paint brushes.
- Ike had a Taco Bell craving, so we had supper.
- Had to take a detour leaving Sioux Falls due to construction. Got a little lost but ended up on a nice, pretty road.
- Got some sass from three guys on mopeds. The guy behind them on the Harley showed 'em who was boss.
- Drove home.
- Painted three of the flower pots, the other one doesn't require painting. (Tomorrow I will transplant plants into the newly painted pots)
- Now I'm sitting at my computer while I'm putting songs onto my phone. I can't even tell you how excited I am. If everything works according to plan, the theme from "The Office" will be my new ringer. Rock.

"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn"
The above is AFI's #1 movie quote of all time. Bonus points to the person who knows what movie it's from and doesn't cheat to find out. :)
Right now we're living in a time where the quality of television programs far exceeds that of movies being released in the theater. I've been begging the movie industry to make a movie that I really want to see on the big screen. Usually there is only one movie at the local cinema I'd be willing to pay for at a time.
This weekend something amazing will happen. Three (count 'em, three) movies will start showing that I'm actually excited to see. I don't know what to do. I'll have to try to space them out because as far as I can tell, it'll be back to crap after this.
Bring on the weekend...

"you're not my wife, but you'll do"
So says my friend TK at the wedding Saturday night. It was hilarious.
The weekend started out kinda shady. I worked a half day Thursday so I could do some shopping in Sioux Falls before I headed home for the wedding. I was completely surprised with my luck in finding a dress and new shoes. This never happens. I was giddy. While I was in Sioux Falls I stopped by the ghetto HyVee by Say Rah's to get mom flowers. I drove home and had enough time to get the flowers put in a vase by the time my parents got home from getting Marvin from the airport. Before I go to bed that night, I decided to take the bag off of the dress in my closet only to find that the lady forgot to take the f'in ink tag off of the dress. *grumble*
So the next day I call the store in Sioux Falls because I didn't have the time to drive back to Sioux Falls, nor did I want to spend $40 on gas to get the ink tag removed from a $60 dress. The lady I dealt with over the phone was extremely nice and found a store in a mall 25 minutes away who would remove the tag *relief*
After I got home from that little trip I got into an arguement with my family about supper. It was stupid but I managed to get really upset. You'd think that after 22 years people would remember that there are some foods you don't like and you probably never will.
Saturday brought the wedding. It quite possibly was the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to. The church looked great, the bride was beautiful, the reception was elegant and the dance was rockin. It was a party that combined my friends from high school and college. There was much drinking and dancing and all around a good time. The bride and groom are two people I've been friends with since childhood. I wish them the best and many happy years to come.

all about me
I AM: taking a break from writing a paper
I WANT: a pony, I want a party, I want to stay up, I want, I want, I want, me, me, me, mine, mine, mine...
I WISH: it were December
I HATE: the smell of cooked fish or the taste for that matter
I MISS: my brother (but I get to see him next week...yay!)
I FEAR: the death of my parents
I HEAR: The Daily Show wit Jon Stewart (and now the Colbert Report)
I WONDER: if I'll ever be able to pass the three CFA tests
I REGRET: not doing more stupid stuff when I was a kid
I AM NOT: going to bed anytime soon
I DANCE: when I'm downtown
I SING: mostly in the car, but around the apartment if no one else is home to hear me
I CRY: a lot more than I used to. At some point I realized it was ok to cry. Just don't ask me to cry in front of you, it won't happen and I'd get embarrassed. :)
I AM NOT ALWAYS: as strong as I'd like to be
I MAKE: my bed rarely
I WRITE: a paper on the analysis of a stock portfolio for my theory of investment valuation class
I CONFUSE: other people fairly often
I NEED: sleep
I SHOULD: put a DVD in and get this paper finished
I START: my car every day (I had nothing for this one)
I FINISH: most things just before it has to be finished. I'm a procrastinator.

L is for the way you look at me...
Rachel assigned me the letter L. Here's my list:
1. Limericks - who doesn't love themself a good limerick?
2. Lists- I dig lists. I make them all of the time.
3. Leaky Little Boat- Song by Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. I was listening to it earlier and it reminded me of being at the lake. I love being at the lake.
4. Laughing- It always seems like I'm a little happier when I laugh. I try to do it often.
5. Legos and Light Brites- Two of my favorite childhood toys.
6. Lamp- I love lamp. Hopefully you all understand that.
7. Love- There are a lot of people who I love and who love me. I'm grateful for that.
8. Luck- I'm not very lucky. However, this means I get what I earn and I'm cool with that.
9. Learning- I doubt I'll ever stop learning. Right now I'm kicking around the idea of getting a CFA once I'm done with school.
10. Leaving- I hate leaving. Except South Dakota. I'm excited to get out of here.
Bonus L word:
11. Llamas- Goofy looking creatures, you've gotta love 'em.
